Well it is finally trying to warm up. It is about time. The local Bass tournaments are now in full swing. The Bass on Kentucky Lake have been hot for the last two months. There have been some of the heaviest catches that I have seen in several years. It is the best I have seen since the last years before they killed the grass in Kentucky Lake. Barkley has been cold as ice but is now starting to produce a few catches of good fish. It will turn on very shortly. It usually is about three weeks or so behind Kentucky Lake. Doug won Judy's tournament last saturday with over eighteen lbs. I am not sure of the exact weight. It was either eighteen or nineteen lbs. Craig came in second and Mike Elliott caught the big fish. Guess what , he caught it on one of my spinnerbaits. One customer told me he caught one over eight lbs on one and didn't have his camera in the boat. Charlie and Walt fished but didn't have much luck this time. The Austin Peay tournament will be at Paris Landing on the tenth of May. Hardluck has been doing real good on the tournament trail this year. It's about time!!!!!!!
The Crappie have been doing good. I have heard that they are starting to be caught out of the bushes. Some of my customers are making some good catches.
The Shellcracker are just now starting to bite. One customer told me today that he had caught several good ones. With this warm weather the bite should be on.
The Catfish are starting to bite. I have had several people in to get some Sonny's stink bait.
I have several different colors and sizes of the Strike King Shadalicious in stock now. They have just been dribbling in a little at a time.
Well until next time good fishing and maybe I will see you on the lake if I can ever get out of this store:Harry
